Net revenue retention

Definition

Net revenue retention is the percentage of recurring revenue retained from existing customers over a period, including expansion and after churn and contraction.

Above 100% means the existing customer base grows without any new customers. It is the number investors look at first for a subscription business, because it separates a product people keep buying more of from one that leaks.
