Stack consolidation
Definition
Stack consolidation is replacing several separate software tools with one system that covers the same ground.
The savings are usually described in licence terms and are usually larger in staff time. The cost is a migration, which is why consolidation gets easier the earlier it is done and harder every year it is deferred.
