Definition

A sub-processor is a third party that a supplier uses to process personal data on its customers’ behalf.

Hosting, email delivery, error tracking and AI providers are all typically sub-processors. Customers are generally entitled to a current list and to notice before it changes, which is why publishing the register matters more than it first appears.
