Single sign-on (SSO)

Definition

Single sign-on lets people access multiple systems with one set of credentials, managed centrally by their employer’s identity provider.

For the user it means one fewer password. For the company it means access can be granted and, more importantly, revoked in one place. It is usually the first thing an enterprise security review asks about, and it is commonly gated to the top tier.
